Woodbury Common is a mountain biker's delight. There is something for everyone: plenty of swooping natural singletrack through the trees, wide open tracks with spectacular views to Dartmoor and the sea, and everything in between. It is also one of the largest areas of ancient heathland in the south west, with plenty of wildlife and history to enchant visitors.
This ride is for you if you have some experience of riding a mountain bike off-road, and are comfortable riding on forest roads, double track and occasionally on singletrack. You have basic bike handling skills and can change gear, brake and pedal efficiently. You would like to improve your riding and try more singletrack. The common is quite hilly, so you need a reasonable level of fitness.
The ride will be led by Cathy Debenham, a British Cycling accredited mountain bike leader who is trained in outdoor first aid. She will show you the best tracks and offer tips and tricks to help you improve your riding and boost your confidence.
To come on this ride you must have a mountain bike (not a hybrid) and helmet.
